Introduction

This policy explains how cookies and similar technologies may be used on the OstaraSoma website.

The website is built and hosted using Framer. Framer's built-in analytics do not use cookies or persistent identifiers, so they do not require cookie consent for that analytics function. Some third-party features, such as Calendly scheduling, may use their own cookies or similar technologies.

Where a cookie or similar technology is strictly necessary to provide a feature you request, consent may not be required. If OstaraSoma adds a technology that requires consent, it will not be activated until the required consent has been obtained.

1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small files stored on your device by a website or online service. They can be used for purposes such as security, remembering preferences, providing requested functionality or measuring how a service is used.

UK rules also apply to some technologies that store information on, or access information from, a user's device even where they are not traditional cookies.

2. Technologies Used on This Website

Framer and Framer Analytics

OstaraSoma is built and hosted using Framer. Framer states that its built-in website analytics are privacy-focused, do not use cookies and do not generate persistent identifiers. Framer therefore states that a cookie-consent banner is not required solely for its built-in analytics.

Framer may still use technologies that are necessary to deliver, secure and operate the website. Where a technology falls within an applicable legal exception, consent is not required, although information about its use should still be made available.

Calendly scheduling

OstaraSoma uses Calendly for appointment scheduling. Calendly may use cookies when its scheduling service is opened or used, including technologies connected with security, session functionality and user preferences.

Calendly provides its own cookie-consent controls for visitors in regions where they are required. OstaraSoma does not rely on a statement that every Calendly cookie is 'essential'. Whether consent is required depends on the particular cookie or technology and its purpose.

If Calendly is embedded directly into an OstaraSoma page, its configuration should retain Calendly's appropriate consent controls unless OstaraSoma has implemented an equivalent consent mechanism that correctly controls the embedded technologies.

3. Analytics

OstaraSoma currently relies on Framer's built-in analytics rather than Google Analytics or another separate behavioural analytics service. Framer states that its analytics do not use cookies or persistent identifiers.

If a separate analytics or tracking service is added in future, this policy will be updated. Any consent required under UK law will be obtained before the relevant technology is used, unless a specific legal exception applies.

4. Essential and Exempt Technologies

Some storage or access technologies can be used without consent where a legal exception applies. This can include technologies that are strictly necessary to provide an online service you have requested, or technologies necessary for transmission of a communication.

Current UK rules also contain specific exceptions for certain statistical and appearance-related purposes, subject to their legal conditions, including providing a simple means to object where required.

I do not describe a cookie as essential simply because it is useful to me. A technology is treated as exempt from consent only where the relevant legal requirements are met.

5. Third-Party Services

Third-party services can set or access their own cookies or similar technologies when you interact with them. On the current OstaraSoma site, the principal third-party website feature identified for this purpose is Calendly.

Calendly's own cookie and privacy information explains the technologies it uses and the controls available to visitors.

NatWest bank transfer, Google Meet, Google Drive and Microsoft Outlook are used in the wider delivery and administration of OstaraSoma services, but they are not listed here as website cookie providers merely because OstaraSoma uses those services elsewhere.

OstaraSoma does not currently use Square for payment processing, and Square is therefore not included in this Cookie Policy.

6. How Long Cookies Last

Cookie duration depends on the technology and provider. A session cookie normally expires when the relevant browser session ends, while a persistent cookie may remain for a defined period or until it is deleted.

Because Framer's built-in analytics do not use cookies or persistent identifiers, there is no Framer Analytics cookie-retention period to list.

For Calendly, cookie duration and the cookies presented to a visitor can depend on the scheduling service, region, consent choice and Calendly's current configuration. Calendly's own cookie controls and notices provide information relevant to its service.

If OstaraSoma begins setting its own non-essential cookies or adds another third-party tracking service, the cookie details and applicable duration will be added to this policy or the site's cookie-preference information.

7. Your Choices

Where consent is legally required for a cookie or similar technology used through the OstaraSoma website, you will be given an appropriate way to accept or refuse it before it is used.

You can also use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking a technology that is necessary for a feature you have chosen to use may mean that feature does not work correctly.

For third-party services such as Calendly, you may also be able to manage preferences through the controls provided by that service.

If OstaraSoma introduces a site-wide consent-management tool in future, this policy will be updated to explain how to reopen or change those preferences.

8. Advertising and Marketing Cookies

OstaraSoma does not currently use advertising or behavioural-marketing cookies on its website.

If this changes, the policy and consent controls will be updated before such technologies are used where consent is required.

9. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Cookie Policy if the website, embedded services or applicable legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on the OstaraSoma website with its last-updated date.
